On August 28/2024 the Ministry of Peace conducted a discussion and field observation in the presence of the leaders of the federal and regional security institutions regarding the activities carried out to solve the problems occurring in the neighboring areas of Afar and Somali regions and the activities planned to be carried out in the future.

Advisor to the Minister of Peace at the rank of  State minister, Ato Kaidaki Gezahigne, presented a report on the work done to solve the problems in the bordering areas of Afar and Somali Regions, and the issues that need to be addressed in the future, said that due to the high coordination work done by the Ministry of Peace, Federal Security Institutions and Afar and Somali Regions, relative peace has been observed in both bordering areas.

The Honorable Minister of Peace, Mr. Binalf Andualem, looked at the areas that were in conflict and returned to a peaceful zone, and he said that the cessation of fire and the end of the conflict is the first phase, in the future, work will be done to establish citizens sustainably and to ensure lasting peace.

Honorable Minister of Peace, Mr. Binalf Andualem said that the determination of the two regions to resolve the conflict was good and the peace work done by the federal security institutions is also encouraging.

He said that activities focused on completing the unfinished tasks and resolving border issues that are the source of the conflict will be carried out in the future.

The leaders of the Ministry of Peace, the security leaders of the federal institutions, and the security leaders of the Afar region were present at the field observation program in the neighboring areas of Afar and Somali where conflict had occurred.
